Farmer (Agrargenossenschaft eG Der Märker)

"Der Märker" is based in Jänickendorf and specialises in the production, storage and marketing of agricultural produce. Together with our subsidiaries, Jänickendorfer Vermarktungs- und Dienstleistungs GmbH (JVD) and Gräfendorfer Land GmbH, we farm 3,000 hectares - all under our own management.

Since 2015, we at JVD have been focussing on organic farming in order to promote environmentally friendly products. We cultivate 1,650 hectares of grain, maize and other various fodder crops, which are mainly marketed regionally. We also cultivate 300 hectares of starch potatoes each year for Emsland-Stärke GmbH. Our grassland supplies 900 suckler cows and feed for fattening cattle.

For the 2026 training year, we are offering two apprenticeships to become a farmer (m/f/d).

As a farmer (m/f/d), you will produce agricultural and livestock products of marketable quality. You will also handle business transactions in agricultural businesses.

Your vocational training will last 3 years.

This will alternate between 2 weeks of practical training in our cooperative in Jänickendorf and 1 week of theory at the OSZ Werder in Groß Kreutz with boarding school as well as 6 one-week courses at the state institute (LLFG) in Iden (Saxony-Anhalt) with boarding school.

Jänickendorf is located in the district of Teltow-Fläming and is only approx. 5 km from Luckenwalde.

NEW: Training as a farmer is also possible with simultaneous acquisition of a technical college entrance qualification if you have completed the 10th grade with a technical college entrance qualification or a technical college entrance qualification with authorisation to attend the upper secondary school. Your practical training is divided into two areas:

1. Plant production:

- Soil cultivation
- Tilling
- Fertilisation
- Plant protection
- Irrigation
- Maintenance, storage and preparation work
- Harvesting

1. Animal production:

- Suckler cow husbandry
- Cattle fattening

- At least a secondary school leaving certificate

- Physical fitness
- Driving licence class T and class B, alternatively willingness to acquire independently during training
