Offer description
We are offering an apprenticeship as a
farmer (m/f/d)
for the 2026/2027 training year. Farmers produce agricultural and livestock products of marketable quality. They also handle business transactions on farms.
The training programme for farmers lasts 3 years. Vocational school takes place in Wangen.
In the training company, the trainees learn, for example
- how to feed and care for farm animals
- what preventative measures there are against animal diseases
- how to maintain storage rooms and storage containers
- how to operate machinery for soil cultivation, sowing, fertilising and harvesting
- what maintenance instructions and lubrication schedules to follow when caring for and maintaining machinery and equipment
- how to prepare products for sale, using equipment for drying, cleaning, sorting, Cleaning, sorting, grinding and mixing
- what needs to be observed when milking milk and caring for udders
- how to carry out soil tests and determine the nutrient content of the soil
- what quality standards and controls need to be observed
- how to calculate feed estimates and feed calculations
In addition, knowledge of topics such as rights and obligations during training, organisation of the training company and environmental protection is taught throughout the training.

Important information for applicants from abroad:

Please note that the following requirements must be met for training in Germany:
1. Work permit / visa:
You must first have or apply for a valid work permit or a corresponding visa for Germany.
2. Basic vocational training year (BGJ):
In Baden-Württemberg, it is necessary to first complete a one-year basic vocational training year (BGJ) in the field of agriculture. Only then is practical training on the farm possible.
3. Contact the training advisor:
Please contact the responsible training advisor at the Ravensburg Agricultural Office (e.g. Mr Zinser) before applying.
4. School registration:
In addition, an application to the agricultural vocational school in Wangen im Allgäu is required.
Important note:
Please do not send us your application until these points have been clarified and initiated.
Uncompleted applications without these requirements can unfortunately not be considered.
