Pferdewirt/in - horse husbandry and service (Astrid Hilpert riding stable)

The Soodehof Hombressen is located on the edge of the Reinhardswald forest approx. 25 kilometres north of Kassel in the border triangle of Hesse, Lower Saxony and Westphalia. Originally characterised by agriculture, horses have always been bred here. From the year 2000, the company was restructured into a pure horse farm with boarding horses, breeding and riding school.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a trainee

to become a horse farmer (m/f/d) - specialising in horse husbandry and service from 01.08.2026 (immediate entry is also possible).

Alternatively, we offer an apprenticeship as a Pferdewirt (m/f/d) - Pferdewirt/in - Pferdezucht.

What do you do in this profession?
Horse managers specialising in horse breeding select horses that meet criteria such as pedigree or health and are suitable for the planned breeding procedures such as pure breeding or refinement. They prepare the animals for artificial insemination or natural mating, look after pregnant animals and assist with the birth of foals. Horse managers specialising in horse breeding feed, water and care for young and breeding horses, train the animals, keep the stables and equipment clean and present them at breeding/performance shows. They advise customers on the purchase and handling of horses. They also assess, maintain and promote the health of the animals and keep records of vaccinations and pedigree.

Our requirements:

- You are very experienced with horses, good basic riding skills are desirable
- You are friendly, team-oriented and physically resilient
- You have the necessary passion for horses
- A driving licence and vehicle are required to reach our yard
