to become a gardener specialising in gardening and landscaping (m/f/d)

The job at a glance:
Gardeners specialising in gardening and landscaping design the environment according to the plans of landscape architects: They build, maintain, renovate and plant outdoor facilities, especially green spaces of all kinds.

The training at a glance:
Gardener specialising in gardening and landscaping is a 3-year recognised training occupation.

In the training company, the trainees learn, for example:
- how soils and substrates are composed and how to use them
- how to determine plants, assess their quality and use plant catalogues or cultivation instructions
- how to use the plant catalogues. How to care for, use and maintain machinery, equipment, tools and construction facilities
- how to identify damage to plants and implement plant protection measures
- what to consider when harvesting and using plants and plant products
- how to transfer implementation and planting plans to the construction site, how to set them up and clear them
- how to dig and secure trenches and pits and how to lay drainage pipes
- how to create protective, sealing, base and drainage layers, e.g. for outdoor facilities or plants used by the public authorities.How to construct water facilities, in particular ponds, basins or watercourses
- how to prepare sites for woody plants in outdoor facilities, building or indoor greenery, slope or bank reinforcements or in the open landscape and how to carry out planting

In addition, knowledge of topics such as rights and obligations during training, organisation of the training company and environmental protection is taught throughout the training.

Prerequisites:
- At least a secondary school leaving certificate
