Training as a gardener (m/f/d) | specialising in ornamental plant cultivation

The main focus of the gardener is the propagation, cultivation, care, harvesting, preparation and storage of plants.

The specialisation of ornamental plant cultivation is characterised in particular by the cultivation of potted plants with modern machines and equipment in greenhouses and outdoors. Acquiring in-depth knowledge of plant species and varieties is just as important as the correct handling of factors such as climate, lighting, darkening, irrigation, etc. Gardeners use the plants they grow themselves to design our public buildings, parks, swimming pools, traffic islands, cemeteries, etc.

Training duration:

3 years

Components:

- Practical training in the municipal nursery in the building department
- Internships at the vocational school in Karlsruhe (every 3rd week of block teaching)

- Practical training in the building department in Karlsruhe (every 3rd week of block teaching). Intermediate examination in the middle / end of the 2nd year of training

at least secondary school


Apprenticeship pay:

1. Year: €1,368.26
2nd year: €1,418.20
3rd year: €1,464.02
