The apprenticeship to become a fish farmer lasts three years and combines practical work with sound theory. The practical training takes place at Fischhaus Letscher and on a weekly basis at the associated fish farms. There, the trainees learn all the important activities relating to rearing, keeping, caring for, processing and refining fish. The theoretical training takes place in block lessons at the vocational school in Starnberg (Bavaria).

A shortening of the apprenticeship period is possible with good school performance.

You will learn:

- Breeding and propagation of salmonids
- Care and maintenance of the pond facilities
- Sale of our own fresh fish and fish specialities
- Professional slaughtering and processing of fish
- Finishing of fish (smoking, pickling, etc.).
- Preparation and presentation of the goods
- Customer advice in fish sales
