Tasks and activities in brief:
Gardeners (m/f/d) specialising in ornamental plant cultivation propagate and cultivate cut flowers, bedding, potted, balcony and green plants in greenhouses and also outdoors in summer. They water, fertilise and prune the plants and use targeted cultivation measures to ensure that the plants reach the required size, flower on time and are therefore ready for sale. They use systems with computer-controlled irrigation and fertilisation, ventilation, lighting and shading. When they sell plants directly to end consumers, they also advise them on the selection and care of plants appropriate to their location.
Requirements:
- Secondary school certificate
- Good to very good in maths
- Great interest in plants & co.
The vocational school takes place as part of block lessons in Göppingen. It is a 3-year recognised apprenticeship.
