In these areas, we perform in particular non-profit tasks of consulting, applied research, promotion and control.

Division 78 "Teaching and Experimental Farm" fulfils tasks in the field of vocational training and further education, as an experimental base within the LfULG and in the demonstration of sustainable agriculture.

Focus of on-farm training

- Plant production (grain, fodder and root crop production)
- Cattle farming (dairy cattle, beef cattle)
- Pig farming
- Sheep farming

After you start your training, we will support you in acquiring a category T driving licence by covering part of the costs.

What you need

- Secondary school leaving certificate, secondary school leaving certificate or A-levels
- Enjoy working with animals and agricultural machinery
- Technical understanding and good observation skills
- Interest in business administration
- Interest in nature and plant cultivation processes
- Willingness to work irregular hours

An advantage:

- Basic knowledge of agriculture, for example in the form of an internship
- Possession of a class L or T driving licence

Your vocational school

You will attend vocational school at the vocational school centre in Wurzen. Your practical training will take place at Unit 78 "Lehr- und Versuchsgut" in 04886 Köllitsch. The training and experimental farm serves as a test and demonstration base for the LfULG and also organises the inter-company training for the occupation of "farmer (m/f/d)" and "animal farmer (m/f/d)" for Saxony and the southern part of Brandenburg. Your inter-company training will also take place in Köllitsch and partly also in Löbau, Rosenhain district. If required, internships in practical companies are possible.
