Master of Animal Husbandry - Sheep farming (Seebürger sheep farm)
Offer description
Our relatively self-sufficient, sustainable organic farm focusses on species-appropriate animal husbandry and natural farming with its own fleet of vehicles. Species and diversity are important for our modern and efficient organic company. That is why, in addition to animal husbandry (sheep, goats, donkeys, cattle), arable farming (mostly grain for our own use) and photovoltaics, we also practise landscape conservation. We keep several thousand animals on a wide range of different areas and have a team of around 35 employees.
We are looking for new members for our great team and offer apprenticeships for individual or all years of training.
We teach you how to handle the animals outside in the herds and inside in the stables and also how to herd entire flocks of sheep with dogs. Building fences, assessing the health of animals, loading animals and also helping the vet and caring for the claws. You can learn all this with us. And also how to handle and care for herd protection animals such as donkeys and dogs. Cleaning and caring for pens and water troughs is just as much a part of this as looking after the lambs and bedding them in the pens.
We want to get to know you if you want to learn with us how to properly handle sheep & goats, cattle and other animal species such as donkeys and dogs and what needs to be considered. Mobility is important to us, which is why we are also happy to support you in obtaining a driving licence and welcome applications with driving licence categories B, T, L. However, you need at least a secondary school leaving certificate.
Are you prudent, responsible and a hard-working person who enjoys working in nature? Do you use your technical understanding and manual skills to complement our team with physical work, including at weekends? Are you committed and able to work under pressure? Your reliable, independent way of working also includes the necessary calmness for dealing with animals? Are you flexible and able to fit into a team with a meticulous way of working and ideally also speak German? Then you'll fit right in with us.
We offer performance-related special bonuses in addition to standard local pay, overtime compensation and regular working hours according to a rota. For our friendly team there are free drinks and, in addition to a crisis-proof job, a varied field of activity and an induction programme. We offer on-site accommodation so that our team players can start work at 7:00 a.m.
A student internship is also possible with us.
Curious? Then get in touch with us. Send us an email to info@schaeferei-seebuerger.de or call us on 03 88 41 - 6 11 33. Of course you can also write us a letter: Human Resources Department, Schäferei Seebürger, Zur Schäferei 1, 19273 Preten. We look forward to getting to know you.
