The scope of duties includes

- Carrying out general repair and maintenance work on the banks of the federal waterways and their facilities (locks, weirs, bridges, moorings), e.g. Wood maintenance, mowing and paving work, path construction, concrete, bricklaying and minor corrosion protection work
- Obstacle search on and along the federal waterways
- Assisting with the draining of locks and weirs
- Repair and maintenance of fixed and floating navigation signs on land and on board watercraft
- Operating boat lock systems (after appropriate instruction)

Your profile:

What you should definitely bring with you:

- Completed vocational training as a hydraulic engineer

or

- in a related physical/craft profession (e.g. in the field of waterway engineering).B. from the fields of gardening and landscaping, bricklaying, road construction, reinforced concrete construction, or civil engineering)

or

- have proven experience of at least five years in civil engineering
- proof of driving chainsaws (module A/B+C, or AS Baum I+II), and cherry pickers
- class B driving licence
- swimming certificate (min. Bronze swimming badge)

- Good written and spoken German
- Manual dexterity
- Unrestricted medical fitness for driving, controlling and monitoring activities, work with risk of falling on and in imponderable terrain, as well as lifting heavy loads
- Proof of driving cranes and earth-moving machinery
- Very good comprehension skills and willingness, to familiarise yourself with complex technical systems
- Good cooperation and teamwork skills
- Ability and willingness to act independently, flexibly and on your own responsibility
- Pleasure craft licence (inland)
- Willingness to drive a company vehicle
- Willingness to undergo further training

The classification is in pay group 5 TVöD as long as the personal and collective agreement requirements are met. We reserve the right to make changes. The position is generally suitable for part-time employees.
