Work for a good cause while earning money and without the stress of school? Spend a year admiring the beauty of nature reserves, working with a chainsaw, brush cutter or other equipment and discovering your strengths.

In brief:

For people interested in nature, minimum age 16, no maximum age limit. The Federal Volunteer Service offers the opportunity to orientate yourself professionally and is ideal for trying out a wide range of practical work.

Volunteers support the biologists with practical maintenance work in the nature reserves. Among other things, they can obtain a chainsaw licence.

They receive pocket money of €650/month (at 40 hours/week) as well as social security (pension, nursing care and health insurance).

The work is supported by the Federal Office of Family Affairs and Civil Society (www.bafza.de), which teaches the volunteers further skills in 3 weeks of seminars.

To get to know the work and the Biological Station, there is the opportunity to come and work for a trial day.
