- You will operate agricultural tractors, towing vehicles, four-wheel drive tractors and multi-axle tractors in agricultural terrain maintenance using various attachments for work such as traffic safety, tree care, grassland maintenance, vegetation and weed removal, road cleaning.
- You will take part in winter maintenance.
- You will operate equipment and machines for the maintenance of horticultural facilities such as chainsaws, brush cutters and lawn mowers.
- You will mow with ride-on lawn mowers; drive and operate special vehicles such as truck-mounted sweepers.
- You will carry out traffic safety measures in tree care with chainsaws and by hand and assist with these activities.
- You will provide support in weed and pest control.
- You will maintain machines and equipment independently and carry out minor repairs to the equipment/machines/vehicles used, taking into account the relevant occupational safety regulations and the corresponding maintenance instructions of the respective manufacturers.
- You can be deployed flexibly throughout the entire area of responsibility of the BwDLZ Rotenburg (Wümme), regardless of your regular place of work, if required.
- The performance of these tasks is associated with on-call duty or standby duty.
- Participation in regular and advanced training and further education (including training lasting several days) is required.
- The position is to be filled as of 01 July 2026.

Qualification requirements:
WHAT COUNTS FOR US
- You are physically resilient without restrictions and fit to lift and carry loads of up to 25 kg in accordance with the load handling regulations (Hettinger table).
- You are suitable for carrying out outdoor work in all weathers (cold, wet, heat, darkness) with changing movement sequences, including with forced spinal postures.
- They are suitable for working in windowless rooms such as basements, crawl spaces, technical areas and shelters.
- They are suitable for working at height on ladders, scaffolding and work platforms where there is a risk of falling.
- You have a driving licence for categories B, BE, C, CE and T and a Bundeswehr driving licence for categories B, BE, C, CE and T or are willing and in good health to obtain one. You agree to drive a service vehicle.
- You have a chainsaw driving licence AS Baum I and II or are willing and in good health to obtain one.
- You are committed to the free democratic basic order in the sense of the Basic Law through your entire behaviour.
- You agree to take part in a medical examination if necessary.
Desired:
- You have training and professional experience in the field of horticulture and landscaping, agriculture or comparable, proven by at least one professional activity with a regular duration of no less than two years.
- You have experience in the operation and use of agricultural and horticultural vehicles of all kinds.
- You have experience in carrying out tree care and tree felling work as well as driving chainsaws (with the appropriate driving licence).
- You have good comprehension skills, reliability, diligence, independence and the ability to work in a team.
