The Chamber of Agriculture of North Rhine-Westphalia is looking for a part-time

Teacher (m/f/d) in the field of calculation and construction contract law to strengthen the teaching team at the technical college for horticulture at the Essen Horticultural Training Centre as of 01.08.2026

The Essen Horticultural Training Centre is home to the vocational college of the Chamber of Agriculture, technical college for agriculture in the field of horticulture. The college offers further training to become a master craftsman or agricultural business economist in the various specialist areas of horticulture.

In addition, Essen is the location for the implementation of further vocational training in horticulture as well as a counselling base.

Your main tasks:

You will be responsible for teaching with a focus on costing and construction contract law (contract management). The subject includes costing, contract management, drawing up bills of quantities, measurements and surveying. The assignment in other subjects of gardening and landscaping is also conceivable.

Your office and place of work is Essen, possibly one day a week in Münster-Wolbeck.

What you bring with you:

- University degree Dipl.-Ing. or Master of Science/Master of Education in Landscaping, Landscape Architecture or another subject area corresponding to the main areas of work (Master (also FH) or Diplom), preferably with additional pedagogical qualification, at the time of recruitment
- Teaching qualification for secondary level II (2nd state examination for the teaching profession at vocational colleges) is desirable, may be possible within the framework of a lateral recruitment programme. can also be acquired as part of a lateral entry traineeship
- Personal commitment, ability to work in a team as well as a structured, goal-oriented and independent way of working
- Experience in teaching is desirable, but not a requirement
- Relevant vocational training in horticulture/gardening and landscaping or previous knowledge in the horticultural field is desirable
- Expertise in the field of construction management
- Construction management experience would be an advantage

This is a permanent, part-time position with 12.75 teaching hours per week.

The position is remunerated with pay group 13 of the collective agreement for the public service of the federal states (TV-L). If the necessary teaching qualification is acquired via a lateral entry programme, the employment relationship must initially be limited in time. During the lateral entry period, the employee is placed in pay group 13 TV-L, before the start of the lateral entry period, depending on the personal requirements, in pay group 12 or pay group 13 TV-L. The continuation of a civil servant relationship up to and including A 14 LBO is possible.
