Job description
The Evangelical Lutheran parish of Munkbrarup is a lively parish in the rural area of the Schleswig-Flensburg church district. It combines a long church tradition with an active community life. The church, the cemetery and the parish buildings are central places of encounter, farewell and faith.
For this responsible task, we are looking for a reliable and committed person who will take on the care and maintenance of the cemetery as well as the accompaniment of church events and services with care and a sense of responsibility. The job combines manual, organisational and service-oriented tasks and contributes significantly to the dignified appearance of our parish. We are looking for 01.08.2026:

WHO WE NEED

For this varied role, we are looking for a committed personality who can take on responsibility both in the field and in church ministry. In addition, there is always the option of submitting an application exclusively for the cemetery caretaker position.

Cemetery caretaker (70%)

- Care and maintenance of the green areas, Paths and squares including foliage and winter maintenance
- Professional hedge and tree pruning in compliance with the applicable regulations
- Checking and maintaining the gravesites and carrying out grave preparations and allocations
- Accompanying relatives at funerals with a sensitive and supportive approach
- Maintaining and caring for equipment and carrying out minor repairs
- Keeping the entire site clean and assisting with the preparation and organisation of funerals (e.g. B. Bell ringing, provision of wreaths)

Küsterdienst (30%)

- Careful preparation and follow-up of church services and official acts
- Provision of candles, flowers, communion and baptismal water
- Operation and monitoring of technical systems (heating, bells, lighting)
- Care and maintenance of the church buildings (church, mortuary, parish hall, Pastorate)
- Ensuring order and opening and closing the church
- Participating in service meetings
- Collecting the collection and keeping simple statistics
