As a comprehensive environmental service provider, our Federal Forestry Division looks after forest, open land and water areas with unique natural features from the coast to the Alps. In the federal forestry operations, we also ensure that the requirements of military use are reconciled with the interests of sustainable and environmentally compatible land management or that the areas of the National Natural Heritage are developed in accordance with the respective nature conservation objectives.

The position is permanent.
What are your main tasks?
Standard activities in the area of stand establishment, stand maintenance, timber harvesting, hunting operations and other operational work, among others.
- Forest regeneration and maintenance, silviculture
- Forest protection/nature and landscape conservation, biotope maintenance
- Timber harvesting
- General operational work and hunting operations
- Traffic safety
What we expect:
Qualifications:
- Successfully completed vocational training as a forester or forest manager. Graduates who will successfully complete their vocational training as a forester in summer 2026
Specialist skills:
- Ideally knowledge of PEFC or FSC certification
- Knowledge of legal standards relevant to forestry (e.g. Federal and State Forest Act, Federal and State Nature Conservation Act, occupational health and safety in forestry work, accident prevention regulations)
- Basic PC skills or willingness to acquire these in the short term willingness to acquire this in the short term
- knowledge of working with maps
Further requirements:
- physical/health suitability
- at least a class B driving licence and willingness to drive a service vehicle
- class BE driving licence (trailer driving licence) or willingness to acquire this licence within one year with a cost subsidy of up to 800 euros
- willingness to work flexibly at different work locations
- ability to work independently, carefully, thoroughly and reliably
- high sense of responsibility as well as strong teamwork and critical thinking skills
