Job description
The Institute of Biodiversity, Ecology and Evolution with Botanical Garden of the Faculty of
Biological Sciences is seeking to fill the position of a
Bioscientist with effect from 1 July 2026. July 2026 a position as
seasonal employee: gardener in the outdoor area
of the Botanical Garden
in part-time (30 hours per week) until 31.10.2026.
Your tasks:
- Gardening maintenance of the outdoor area "Ecology" (among others with useful plants, medicinal plants, rhododendron plant, moor, heather) and the open-air area "Systemanlage"
- Cultivation, propagation, water supply, fertilisation, soil cultivation, plant protection, weeding, Raking foliage and pruning
- Propagating and supplementing stocks in collaboration with the area managers
- Assisting with the reorganisation of parts of the plant
- Instructing trainees in the area
- Occasional duties at weekends and on public holidays
Your profile:
- Successfully completed gardening training in horticulture or ornamental horticulture or similar skills
- Good knowledge of seed cultivation and vegetable growing
- Ability to work independently, as part of a team and flexible
- Ability to instruct trainees
- Class 3 or B driving licence. B
