DER KOMMUNALSERVICE JENA is an in-house operation of the city of Jena and is very successful in a wide variety of areas, such as urban cleaning, street lighting, building construction and civil engineering, cemetery and green space maintenance. As a modern service provider, we strive to constantly improve the quality of life of the citizens of our city and to contribute to a beautiful and clean cityscape.

For the Civil Engineering & Urban Space division, we are looking for a full-time gardener (m/f/d) to start as soon as possible in the area of public greenery, initially on a 2-year fixed-term contract.

The area of responsibility includes traffic safety and maintenance of green spaces and parks, roadside greenery, water bodies, outdoor ditches, fire water ponds, water wall sites, near-natural areas and insect meadows.

Range of tasks:

- Planting and maintaining woody plants, perennials and group plants, alternating flora according to variety and species
- Carrying out pruning and pruning work to establish the obligation to ensure traffic safety under nature conservation conditions
- Soil preparation, improvement, -loosening and conditioning measures
- Creating representative planting areas
- Carrying out lawn mowing
- Structural repair work
- Carrying out winter maintenance work
- Handling machines and equipment
- Maintenance and repair work on machines and equipment

We would like you to have the following skills:

- good knowledge of gardening and landscaping
- good written and spoken communication skills
- good use of IT technology (d.b.g. scheduling and task app)
- ability to work in a team, flexibility, problem-solving orientation and assertiveness
- possession of a valid driving licence class C/CE
- willingness to work shifts
