The non-profit LIMV e.V. is the only state association of beekeepers in Germany to operate a beekeeping centre in 19246 Zarrentin am Schaalsee OT Bantin Ausbau, Wittenburger Straße 3. The entire board of the LIMV e.V. works on a voluntary basis.
The beekeeping centre/APINEUM receives institutional funding from the state budget of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Annex 9 to the budget of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Environment MV).
Our beekeeping centre is the venue for training events for recreational beekeepers (beginners' course, honey training, further training for advanced beekeepers, breeder training, etc.), a recognised training company and, as an APINEUM, a tourist attraction.

We are looking to fill the position of a

animal keeper specialising in beekeeping (m/f/d)

full-time (with part-time suitability) as soon as possible. The working time is 40 hours per week. This is an open-ended employment contract, with remuneration based on EG 5 of the collective agreement of the federal states (TV-L).

Your tasks with us:
You will look after the bees in our apiary (approx. 350 colonies) carefully and attentively and support the team in breeding work and queen multiplication.
You will be actively involved in beekeeping training, events and specialist courses and will also be prepared to work at weekends.
You will advise external beekeepers or interested laypeople on colony management, honey harvesting and food hygiene.

What you will bring:
-         Ideally, you will have extensive beekeeping experience, preferably already with a larger colony population. As a minimum, we expect many years of in-depth beekeeping experience and a willingness to pass on your enthusiasm for beekeeping.
-        A journeyman or master beekeeper qualification is a prerequisite.
-         Car driving licence, preferably with a trailer driving licence.
-         Ability to work independently in close cooperation with the entire team.
-        Strong sense of "the big picture".
-         Willingness to occasionally work nights and weekends.
-        Good PC skills (Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
