Job description
As a housekeeping specialist, you are an important part of the team in our facilities. Your tasks are varied and support your colleagues in various areas: Food preparation, house and laundry care, house cleaning and interior design.
Depending on the workplace, for example in a care home for the elderly or a facility for people with disabilities, respectful and empathetic interaction with the residents is required. Openness, patience and understanding are particularly important here.
What you will learn:
- Preparing small dishes and pastries
- Preparing and serving food and drinks
- Laundry and cleaning
- Cleaning and maintaining the rooms and facilities
What you will bring with you:
- Training is suitable for people with disabilities
- School leaving certificate not necessary
- Previous knowledge of housekeeping is an advantage
- Physical resilience
- Service orientation, open-minded nature and enjoyment in dealing with people
*An aptitude test will be arranged by the relevant employment agency.

Content and course of the apprenticeship:
The apprenticeship starts on 1 August and lasts three years. The theoretical part of your training takes place at the Elly-Heuss-Knapp-Schule in Neumünster. You will complete the practical training in housekeeping at our Fichtenhof (conference centre and leisure home) in Rickling. You will gain further practical insights in the laundry, the sewing room, with the butchers and, if you wish, in the canteen kitchen and the bakery. Trainees are also regularly assigned to the kitchen and service in Café Spindel or Café Friedrich on a rotating basis.
