Job description
Among other things, they are the point of contact for the citizens of Nidderau in various life situations, take care of municipal construction, infrastructure and digitalisation projects, promote climate protection in our town, manage the municipal budget or ensure carefree leisure fun in the Nidderbad. In this way, our team not only helps to successfully manage Nidderau, but also contributes to actively shaping the future of the city.
We are looking for a forest manager (m/f/d) for the Environment department at the earliest possible date.
Your area of responsibility essentially includes:
- Carrying out team-oriented timber harvesting
- Cultivation work and stand maintenance
- Landscape conservation and maintenance of watercourses
- Care and maintenance of equipment, huts and recreational facilities
- Path maintenance and path renovation
- Construction and installation of hunting equipment
- Supporting the district management in a wide range of activities
- Operating forestry machinery (e.g. tractor with cable winch, crane)
- Operating forestry machines

- Maintenance of communal green spaces
Your requirements profile:
- Successful completion of training as a forester or comparable training
- Sound knowledge of handling chainsaws and other harvesting equipment (with the relevant AS tree certificates, e.g. module A/B/C or comparable)
- Profound knowledge of the use of chainsaws and other harvesting equipment (with the corresponding AS tree certificates, e.g. module A/B/C or comparable).E.g. module A/B/C or comparable)
- Driving licence classes (T or C/CE) and experience in handling attachments
- Carrying out clearing, thinning and planting
- Specialist knowledge of certification standards (e.g. FSC, Naturland)
- Willingness to be on call or to work outside regular working hours in the event of disasters (e.g. storm damage, bark damage, bark beetle damage). Storm damage, bark beetle infestation)
- Ability to observe and analyse
- Expertise in the use of specific forestry software or geographic information systems (GIS) for district mapping, timber volume calculation and documentation of forest management
- Strict compliance with the Federal Forest Act, the Hessian Forest Acts and the Nature Conservation Acts (BNatSchG, Hess. Nature Conservation Act)
- High degree of resilience, flexibility and organisational skills as well as strong communication and teamwork skills
- Very good organisational skills, initiative, goal-oriented and structured way of working
