Job description
The forest of the town of Bad Pyrmont is managed by the municipal forestry company Stadtforst Bad Pyrmont.

The municipal forest covers an area of 2,085 hectares and is predominantly planted with deciduous trees. It is a typical low mountain range operation with a varied terrain, vigorous growth sites and a diverse range of near-natural tree species. The dominant tree species is the copper beech, which grows here in the optimum location. The forestry operation is economically oriented, the current annual felling is planned at around 18,200 cubic metres.

The municipal forest is divided into three large rounded forest areas which, together with agricultural areas, attractively embed the city and thus enable work to be carried out without long journeys. This rural structure helps to ensure that the traffic safety obligations remain manageable and that the recreational pressure does not become a burden for the forest and its employees.

The forestry operation is managed independently, as is timber marketing. These facts create a great deal of room for manoeuvre in forestry as well as creative opportunities to implement your forestry knowledge.

The prerequisite for the position is the career qualification for the 1st entry level of career group 2 in the field of agricultural and environmental services for the forestry service by completing the preparatory service (former career path for the senior forestry service).

The area of responsibility includes the following activities:

- Supervision of approx. 1.300 ha of municipal forest including planning and organisation of all operational work, in particular timber harvesting
- Management of the company's own staff and the use of contractors in this area
- Office administration including submission of funding applications and completion of the usual office work
- General representation of the forestry office manager

In addition, we expect:

- Ability to work in a team, commitment, initiative and open-mindedness.
- A high degree of communication skills and openness towards the residents and guests of Bad Pyrmont
- Good knowledge in the use of common IT programs
- The willingness to familiarise yourself comprehensively with the administration of the forestry operation and to carry out office work as required
- Driving licence class B/BE
- Experience in the management of a forest district is desirable
- Health suitability for forestry field service

For this job we offer you:

- A responsible managerial role in a young, motivated team
- A challenging task with a great deal of creative freedom
- If you fulfil the requirements under civil service law, a salary in accordance with BesGr. A11
- The usual social benefits in the public sector
- Provision of a company car
- Comprehensive health management, including a fitness cooperation with the Hufelandtherme spa and the option of leasing a bicycle
- Structural and territorial reforms like elsewhere are unknown to us - if you prove yourself, a life-long position awaits you here
