The Evang.-Luth. parish is looking for a committed and reliable person for the Haspe Protestant cemetery with immediate effect as

Gardener (m/f/d)

full-time with 39 hours per week, initially for a limited period of two years.

Working in a cemetery requires much more than just manual skills. You support people in times of grief and create a place of dignified remembrance with your work. That's why respect, empathy and careful work are just as important to us as horticultural expertise.

Your future tasks:

You will work with the team to maintain and manage our cemetery in Hagen-Haspe. This includes:

- Maintenance and design of green areas as well as grave and path maintenance incl. winter service
- Carrying out grave digging and grave closures
- Empathetic support for relatives when choosing graves
- Checking waste and compost separation, organising removal
- Maintaining technical equipment and vehicles
- Carrying out minor repairs

Your profile

- Completed training as a (cemetery) gardener or in landscaping
- Experience in handling small machines (e.g. brush cutters, chains, etc.). E.g. brush cutter, chainsaw)
- Driving licence class B / BE required
- Physical resilience and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to work in a team as well as independently and in a structured manner
- Empathy in dealing with grieving relatives
- Appreciative, well-groomed appearance and respectful interaction with visitors
- An excavator licence is an advantage, but not a requirement.
- Willingness to undergo further training.
