The wine technologist (formerly wine cooper (m/f/d) is responsible for the cellar work in wine production. The tasks include, for example, receiving, checking and processing the grapes, controlling and monitoring the fermentation and ageing of the wine.

This nationwide regulated 3-year apprenticeship as a wine technologist is a recognised training occupation in accordance with the Vocational Training Act (BBiG) and the Crafts Code (HwO).
