Job description
The Schloss Dyck Foundation looks after one of the most culturally and historically significant moated castles in the Rhineland, regionally embedded in the Jüchen region, surrounded by the metropolises of Mönchengladbach, Düsseldorf and Cologne. The complex with its large English landscape garden and numerous themed gardens is one of the most outstanding garden complexes in NRW, with around 300,000 visitors coming to Schloss Dyck every year. The aim over the next few years is to become the first climate-neutral castle park in Germany.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for a committed gardener (m/f/d) who enjoys actively helping to shape this unique place, between historical garden art and future-oriented, sustainable park management
Your tasks are ...
- Maintenance and further development of the English landscape garden with its valuable stock of trees
- Care of the themed gardens (including the Asian garden, kitchen garden, garden with a large number of trees). Asian garden, kitchen garden, play areas)
- Participation in the redesign and creation of new garden areas
- Maintenance and development of the historic tree population, taking into account climate adaptation measures
- Creation and maintenance of alternating plantings and perennial areas
- Sowing, cultivation and care of fruit and vegetable plants
- Wood maintenance: Pruning fruit trees, shaping and maintenance pruning
- Care and maintenance of paths, features and play areas
- Operation and care of machinery and equipment
- Support at events (set-up and dismantling)
