The State Teaching and Research Institute for Horticulture (LVG) Heidelberg is a state institute within the portfolio of the Ministry of Rural Areas and Consumer Protection of Baden-Württemberg and is responsible for research, education and training in horticulture. Its work focuses on applied research on topics relating to ecology, sustainability and biodiversity as well as the transfer of knowledge from the results to educational and advisory practice. Numerous nationwide project and working groups are networked via the OpenOLAT (Open Learning And Training) system used in Heidelberg. The Staatliche Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt für Gartenbau (LVG) Heidelberg has a vacancy for a

DiplIng. (FH) or Bachelor (f/m/d)

in the field of horticulture or equivalent subject areas

as part of the project "Plant strengthening and biostimulants in organic horticulture" (short name: PflöBiGa). The project is funded by the Ministry of Food, Rural Areas and Consumer Protection as part of the implementation of the "Organic from Baden-Württemberg" action plan.

The tasks associated with the position include in particular

- Researching and analysing previous results and selecting suitable test preparations
- Designing, supervising and evaluating structured trials to develop practical application strategies for biostimulants in the production of selected vegetable and ornamental crops
- Describing, evaluating and presenting existing results
- Preparing reports
- Transferring knowledge into practice

The prerequisite is a successfully completed university degree in a diploma programme (FH) or an equivalent bachelor's degree programme. an equivalent Bachelor's degree programme that qualifies for the tasks mentioned, preferably in the field of horticulture.

The following requirements are also placed on the employee:

- Interest/previous knowledge in protected, organic vegetable and ornamental plant cultivation
- Sound knowledge in the cultivation management of horticultural crops
- Experience with soil cultures and in pot cultivation in the areas of substrates and fertilisation is an advantage
- Affinity for new media and communication methods
- Competence in knowledge transfer and "networking"

Collaboration with practitioners and consulting requires very good teamwork and communication skills. A high degree of organisational talent, independent and structured work as well as proven skills in the oral and written presentation of results and contexts are expected.

We expect a confident use of standard software (MS Office) and a willingness to familiarise yourself with new IT programs. Fluency in written and spoken German and a good command of English are required.

A valid class B driving licence is required.

The employment relationship is based on the collective agreement for the public service of the federal states (TV-L). Provided that all collective agreement and personal requirements are met, remuneration is in accordance with pay group 10.

We offer an allowance for local public transport (JobTicket BW) and a separate supplementary pension scheme (VBL) as a company pension.
